The World Wide Web Consortium (W3C) announced the winner in the HTML5 browser category, and surprise – it’s Internet Explorer 9! Which means that so far, it’s the only browser ready to handle the new web. Google’s Chrome came in 2nd, followed by Firefox and Opera and Safari in last place. Back to work browsers.
Because Microsoft released its last version of Explorer for the Mac in 2003, Apple users can only hope for major improvements in their current browsers of choice in this new HTML5 era. Until then, they can envy the PC crowd… for once.
P.S. HTML5 promises to deliver Flash-like content (think ads!) without actually using Flash, and in a more universal way. Surf’s up, dude.
