I love cars and automotive technology and try to be up on the latest bells and whistles, and design trends. Sometimes, when the family is asleep, I’ll sneak on the internet to check out the latest and greatest offerings from the automakers.

Beautiful photos, intricate tech drawings and romantic copy… all good. But how do you actually get a feel for what you get behind the wheel? Do you wait ’til Saturday to get harassed (or ignored) by a salesman at the dealership?

Nope! Introducing a Volkswagen Test Drive in a print ad. For now only available in Norway, the spread features a typical snowy road somewhere in the world. Consumers must download an app from VW and run their phone over the ad while a virtual Volkswagen on the screen demonstrates new ways of making the driving safer and more comfortable.

Wow, I could do this all day. Oh and no gas or license required. Bon voyage!
