Salvation Army Text CampaignSo now even the Salvation Army bell-ringing Santas are going mobile! Couldn’t be more simple. Ringing bell. Big sign. Request to text GIVEPGH to a simple short code and poof — you’ve made a $10 donation. (Well not quite poof. I’m sure there is a credit card involved in here.) But think about it: no fumbling around for money, no pennies and dimes in the pot (unless you want to).  Plus, the Salvation Army gets to build a database of willing “givers” to email around the year.

Cheap. Simple. Convenient for the ones donating. That’s what warrants my GWH W.T.F.(Winner Toss-Up or Flop) WINNER designation. HoHoHo
