Wow, I thought this was a pretty cool social cause, a GWH W.T.F. (Winner, Toss-Up or Flop) Award Winner to me— Check it out. It’s a way to turn surfing the web and advertising into a means of giving children around the world good nutrition. The project is called Lazy Angel. It works by a user downloading a free Lazy Angel toolbar that is available for Firefox, Chrome, Internet Explorer and Safari.
Once you have your toolbar installed, advertisers spend money to post text ads to it, money that helps malnourished kids and you track your impact. “Some 60 percent of those fees fund micronutrient interventions including vitamin A, zinc, folate and iron/iodine fortification, as well as deworming. Lazy Angel’s health projects are administered by child health organization CORE Group and overseen by NGOs, with results reported in the toolbar.”
Shopping never made me feel so good!
