This is about a very important and painful subject – testing cosmetics on animals. Created for the English cosmetics maker LUSH. The premise is pretty straightforward: show how cruel this testing is on a human being. In this case it’s a young performance artist. It all took place in a window of Lush store in London and, obviously, attracted a lot of attention.
A great cause, right? Right. Right? Why am I thinking about thousands of women that are abused and tortured every day? Couldn’t there be a male actor in her place? Something is alarming in seeing a man “terrorizing” a helpless woman in public… There has to be another way of bringing this message home? Or am I being unreasonable? Gone too far? What do you think?
