Great stunts, Kemosabe

If you haven’t experienced the recent bombardment of Disney’s The Lone Ranger commercials, then you must be living completely off the grid.

But the spot that caught my attention most was the one that aired on the Discovery Channel during the footage of Skywire, the live stunt where Nik Wallenda successfully tight roped across a 1400-foot span of the Grand Canyon.

Disney did it right by taking full advantage of this most extreme stunt platform — running it not as a typical commercial, yet as a behind-the-scenes look at the many breathtaking stunts involved in the filming of The Lone Ranger. The timing and relevance couldn’t have been more perfect, as they got the viewers right where they wanted them — in the midst of experiencing pure suspense.

This particular spot is the extended version of that same commercial, but I think you’ll agree it’s worth every moment of viewing!
