British Airways Interactive Billboard

Want to see something cool in outdoor advertising? Something better than the inflatable swinging sock people? More effective than mascots walking along the road and more hi-tech than store signs powered by wind? Enter the British Airways Interactive Billboard! It consists of a giant electronic display, a few geeky gadgets and some basic Harry Potter magic (it’s in England afterall). Check it out here.  Pretty amazing. Every time a BA jet flies over, its data (destination and flight number) is displayed on the billboard. And, in case you are wondering, when planes are not flying over it shows a regular BA advert.

Entertaining to watch, shows us lots of exciting places that BA flies, a real conversation-starter about how technologically savvy BA is.  This super cool use of surveillance technology is exciting — or it it scary?…
